HOW IS YOUR EYE SIGHT?

If you are reading this Mousetales e-mail, then you probably have good eye sight.  You are able to see the words on the screen.  You can look out the window and see the world around you.  You can look in your closet and see all your clothes.  You can look in the mirror and see what your face looks like.  Having good eye sight and being able to see is a wonderful thing.

You would not be able to do those things if you were BLIND.

Many year's ago there lived a blind lady named Fanny Crosby.  As Fanny grew up, she learned about God and how much God loved her.  She learned early in her life that God always did everything right.  He never makes any mistakes.  He always does what is best for us.  That is why Fanny never once blamed God for her blindness.  In fact, she even thanked God for it.  Perhaps she didn't always know the reason or understand His plan, but Fanny knew that God did everything right.  That included her being blind.

It was Fanny's grandmother who helped her to know about the things she could not see.  Her grandmother described what the sunrise looked like.  She told Fanny about the clouds.  She explained to Fanny the different kinds of flowers and handed them to Fanny so she could smell them and touch them with her hands.  She told Fanny what grass looks like and rainbows and kitty cats and even the mountains.

Best of all, Fanny's grandmother told her about God and about the wonderful stories of the Bible.  Though Fanny could not see, God was working in Fanny's heart.  One day Fanny understood that she was a sinner.  She knew that she had said and done things that displease God.  She believed what the Bible said about God's Son Jesus.  The Bible tells us that, "Christ (Jesus) died for our sins according to the Scriptures (the Bible); and that He was buried, and that He rose again (came back to life) the third day according to the Scriptures" (I Corinthians 15:3,4).  Fanny knew in her heart these things were true.  It was on that day that Fanny got on her knees and talked to God in prayer.  She admitted that she was a sinner, and she accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior.

Fanny Crosby was blind her whole life, but she loved the Word of God and she memorized much of it.  God also gave her the special ability to be able to write beautiful poems.  Some of her poems were put to music and have since because very famous songs of the church.

Unlike Fanny Crosby, you probably have good eye sight.  But how is your SPIRITUAL eye sight?  I'm talking about things you cannot see with your eyes but things you can know and believe in your heart.  Do you know that God loves you very much?  Do you know in your heart that you are a sinner?  Have you invited Jesus to be your Savior like Fanny did?  Are you going to church where you can learn things from the Bible about God?

God loves you . . . and He always does everything right.
