THE MOUSE WHO LOST HIS TAIL

I'd like to tell you a story about a little mouse who lived in a shaky, run-down, old house near the sea.  He was a very well-behaved young mouse and hardly ever got into any trouble.  His only bad habit was that he could never make up his mind about anything.

One night there was a terrible storm.  Rain poured from the sky and the wind blew strong.  The old house was in danger of falling down.  The mouse friends who lived with the little mouse woke him up and said they all had to leave the dangerous house right away.  It wasn't safe to stay there anymore, but the young mouse couldn't believe that the old would fall down so suddenly.  Just then, a great gust of wind shook the house, and the little mouse began to change his mind.  Maybe he would leave, just in case.  His friends could not wait for the little mouse to make up his mind, so they went outside without him.  Then the little mouse ran to the doorway and stopped, wondering if he should really leave or not.  After all, it was cold and raining outside, and he didn't want to get wet.

Suddenly, there was a loud crash.  The walls started swaying and then the house really did fall down.  The little mouse jumped for his life and barely escaped -- all except for his tail.  It was cut off just as the little mouse jumped through the crumbling doorway.

The little mouse had been warned of the danger, but he couldn't decide quickly enough to avoid the danger.

There is danger ahead for all of us, and we must each make a very important decision.  The Bible says that each of us is a sinner.  We're all guilty of doing things that God's Word says are wrong.  The Bible also tells us that the wages or payment for doing these wrong things is death (Romans 6:23).  However, you can make a decision to take God's gift of everlasting life by asking Jesus to forgive you and to save you from your sins.  The Bible says, "For God so loved the world (including you) that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus), that if you believe in Him, you will not perish (be separated from God) but will have everlasting life (with God in Heaven) (John 3:16).

Don't be like the foolish young mouse and wait until it is too late.  Make your decision to believe on the Lord Jesus right now.
